Season Overview
A season in Pennant Wars can be broken down into 3 sections: Pre-season, Regular Season, Post-Season.
Pre-Season
The pre-season is when you can offer arbitration to eligible players, and sign free agents to round out your roster for the upcoming season. The pre-season is also when you can make changes to your front office settings, like your stadium (your stadium is locked once games start). The pre-season is also when you will first see the progress/regression of your players from the past off-season. You will want to make sure your roster and lineups are all set and ready to go for opening day!
Regular Season
The regular season consists of 162 games spread across 180 days. Every "real life" day, 6 days are simulated in Pennant Wars. Pennant Wars simulates the next day at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM, 8 PM, and 11 PM EST each day. This means it takes 30 "real life" days to get through the 162 game schedule.
Additionally, during the regular season, the 5 rounds of the amateur draft are simulated. Round 1 happens on May 1st, round 2 on June 1st, round 3 on July 1st, round 4 on August 1st, and round 5 on September 1st.
All-star teams are chosen on July 15th, and end of season awards (MVP, Ace Hurley, etc.) are chosen on October 1st.
Post-Season
The post-season starts once the regular season schedule has ended. The top teams in Division 1 compete for the league championship. Meanwhile, the top teams in Divisions 2, 3, and 4 compete for promotion up to the next division.
